Chip Starns

Founder, Chief Regulatory Officer and EVP

Mr. Starns brings more than (30) years of leadership experience across operations, business development and sales. As Founder of Reveam, he serves as Chief Regulatory Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development, helping lead the company’s regulatory strategy and industry engagement.

He has held leadership roles in both the nuclear and phytosanitary industries, including service on the Executive Committee and as Past President of the Council on Ionizing Radiation Measurements and Standards (CIRMS), as well as on ASTM International’s Radiation Processing Committee. In 2024, he received the CIRMS Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mr. Starns has helped position Reveam and its ECP technology on the global stage, including presenting at the first ever International Plant Health Conference in London in 2022. He has also spoken at U.S. National Plant Board meetings, technical symposiums with U.S. National Laboratories, and other industry events focused on linear accelerator technology and food safety applications. In 2022, he was granted his first U.S. patent.

Before founding Reveam, Mr. Starns served as a Senior Nuclear Engineer with Southern Company and as Regional Manager for a national medical diagnostic imaging company. He began his career in the U.S. Navy, supervising nuclear reactor and dive operations aboard nuclear fast-attack submarines.

Mr. Starns earned a B.S. in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a graduate of Naval Nuclear Power School and Navy Dive School.
