Reveam Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Chip Starns, was honored with the Randall S. Caswell Award at the 31st Annual CIRMS Meeting for his contributions to ionizing radiation measurements and standards.
(Rockville, MD) – Chip Starns, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Reveam, has been awarded the prestigious Randall S. Caswell Award by the Council on Ionizing Radiation Measurements and Standards (CIRMS). Named after the former Chief of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Ionizing Radiation Division and visionary force behind the establishment of CIRMS, this award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to ionizing radiation measurements and standards for the Nation through leadership, participation, research, and mentoring.
With over two decades of leadership experience spanning operations, engineering, and sales, Chip has played a pivotal role in steering Reveam’s strategic business development endeavors and regulatory affairs. His extensive background includes serving in the U.S. Navy on nuclear submarines and holding the past president role at CIRMS, where he also served on the CIRMS Executive Committee for (11) years. Additionally, Chip holds a U.S. Patent for accelerator technology and is regularly sought after as a guest speaker at international conferences, U.S. National Labs, and leading universities. His contributions to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International, Radiation Processing Committee further underscore his dedication to the field.
Moreover, Chip’s influence extends globally, as evidenced by his invitation to present Reveam’s technology at the World’s First International Plant Health Conference in London in 2022. This event, co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), and the UK Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), highlights his significant contributions to advancing innovation and excellence in the industry. Chip Starns’ profound impact on the field make him a fitting recipient of this prestigious recognition.
