(Reedley, CA) – Last year, Reveam was introduced as part of the inaugural AgTechX Food Safety Cohort established by Western Growers (WG) Center for Innovation & Technology. The Cohort was created to quickly develop cutting-edge prevention and diagnostic technologies to address challenges facing the fresh produce sector.

The Cohort consists of a group of innovators specializing in prevention technologies and rapid diagnostics who will receive exclusive resources to help them launch and scale their projects. Reveam Co-Founder and EVP, Chip Starns, was invited to join the important Cohort and participate in a series of meetings to discuss challenges facing the various produce growing regions – while addressing some of the most critical environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) focused issues.

Recently, Reveam traveled with WG to Reedley, CA to meet with various growers and innovators in the region. The Central Valley, known widely as the “fruit basket of the world,” is renowned for some of the largest and most sophisticated growing operations in the country. Growers, producers, and processors in the region grow a wide variety of crops on millions of acres of the world’s most productive farmland, contributing billions in economic value both locally and beyond.

“It’s an honor to visit with California growers from this region. We are eager to learn more about their safety and quality challenges and work to find solutions. Our ECP™ technology can provide viable alternatives to existing methods used today, while improving quality standards and promoting environmental sustainability,” stated Starns.

Electronic Cold-Pasteurization™ (ECP™), a USDA/FDA-approved treatment solution, is a chemical-free, heat-free treatment that eliminates harmful pests and pathogens while extending shelf-life at the peak of freshness and pinnacle of safety. ECP™ showers fresh produce with a controlled beam of electrons that eliminates pests like fruit flies, destroys pathogens like Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella and kills bacteria and molds that spoil food.

This patented electron beam system also significantly extends the shelf life of produce without harming taste, color, odor, texture or the environment, and is recognized by leading industry experts as the only truly effective and environmentally safe food treatment method available today.

Reveam looks forward to upcoming Cohort meetings and supporting Western Growers to advance innovative solutions in the region.
